Recently, I sat down to write a “Bio” for another purpose which spurred me to reflect on the highs and lows of my life. In doing so, memories of God’s faithfulness were evident in every valley and mountaintop experience.
Throughout the years, God’s presence guided me through difficult terrain. He gave comfort in the long goodbye of Frank’s Parkinson’s disease and Primary Progressive Aphasia. As a widow, God fulfilled His promise to be my husband. He was my protector, provider, and friend.
In October 2022, I traveled to England to visit the Knitting and Stitching Show and tour sites related to authors in the London vicinity. There were plays, exhibits, and cuisine to enjoy. There were pubs, people, and parks to remember. It was all exciting and wonderful; however, there was one disappointment: I was missing someone to share my interactions and discoveries.
Upon returning home, I signed up with an online dating service and explained that Jesus Christ was the center of my life. In that profile, I focused on my desire to put God first in everything; I wanted to meet someone who shared my perspective.
Very quickly, Brian’s profile appeared. We set up a coffee date. The following week we went to lunch; the next date was dinner. We hit it off immediately. The funny thing was we only lived two miles apart! God had it all coordinated!
My journey with God began when I was very young. I confessed my need for Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Over the years, as my understanding expanded, I made new commitments to serve the Lord Jesus Christ who became my constant confidante.
Today, I am blessed to be a loved child of God. This opportunity is available to all through God’s offer of eternal life. If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for sins, was buried, and was resurrected on the third day, you will be saved (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Further, Paul said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.” (Acts 16:31)
Why don’t you make that decision today?
Maranatha,
